When working on hydropower dams, minimizing underwater construction activities is an essential factor for safety, cost efficiency, and operational control. That is why DCN Diving always begins by assessing whether a subsea structure can be isolated from the surrounding water pressure. When this is possible, we create a completely dry and safe workspace for our client, enabling their own specialists to perform the civil works.
Bulkheads are temporary, custom-designed sealing structures that isolate a full or partial section of an underwater construction. They create a watertight barrier that allows complex repairs, inspections, or modifications to be carried out without the challenges associated with working underwater.
Hydropower dams demand the highest levels of safety and reliability. Our bulkheads are frequently used to access turbine housings, intakes, outflows, and other critical sections of the dam structure. By dewatering the area, civil teams can work with the same precision and tools they would use above water.
