DCN Diving was contracted for an EPIC project to rehabilitate a hydro power dam intake in North Africa. After damage to the maintenance gate, a method was required to safely dewater the intake and carry out repairs in a dry environment.
We designed, fabricated and installed a 250-ton steel bulkhead at 50 meters depth, equipped with hydraulic valves and supporting wheels for precise deployment. This allowed the installation of a new lintel beam, grouting and full restoration of the intake while maintaining safety and structural integrity.
The project demonstrates DCN Diving’s ability to deliver complex underwater engineering solutions on critical infrastructure, combining innovative design with meticulous execution.
