Project

Oosterweelverbinding

For the Oosterweelverbinding, DCN Diving contributed to the successful immersion of all eight tunnel elements of the Scheldt Tunnel.

Each element, measuring approximately 160 meters in length and weighing around 60,000 tons, was constructed in Zeebrugge and transported over sea and river to its final location in Antwerp. Once on site, the elements were carefully positioned on the riverbed and connected with exceptional precision.

On behalf of IMMONTEC, DCN Diving contributed to the inspection and guidance throughout the immersion operations, working in close collaboration with multiple project partners. In challenging conditions and within tight tolerances, this joint effort ensured that each tunnel element was installed safely and accurately.

The completion of all eight immersions marked a significant milestone in the realization of the Scheldt Tunnel, contributing to improved mobility and connectivity in and around Antwerp.
